Bought a program at a time
The same customer typed in again in every one of them. Change an address and it is right in one place and wrong everywhere else, and nothing in the building tells you which one to believe.
About
कार्यालय
Karyalay is a brand of Karyalay Technology Corporation. We make business management software for Indian businesses, the websites and business email that go around it, and we register the domain names it all hangs off. Karyalay means office — one place your records live, with every part of the work reading the same ones.
Why it is one system
Most business software is bought a program at a time — one for billing, one for stock, one for staff. Each holds its own copy of the same customer, and keeping them agreeing becomes somebody’s job. We started from that, and it is the reason this is one system rather than a range.
The same customer typed in again in every one of them. Change an address and it is right in one place and wrong everywhere else, and nothing in the building tells you which one to believe.
One customer list, one catalogue, one set of staff. Billing, stock and the shop on your website are reading the same records, so there is no version to reconcile and nobody whose job is keeping two lists level.
What we make
All of it works on its own, and all of it works better together. A business that buys only a website, or only its mail, is a customer — not a lead to be worked on later.
What we will not do
Anyone can write a page about values. These are the ones you can check on another page of this same site before you believe a word of it.
KaryalayForge is what our websites are built on, and it is not a product with a price. It is here so you can see the site you are buying is ours to maintain rather than assembled from parts we do not control.
We sell domain names because a business setting itself up should not be sent to a stranger for the one thing its website and its mail both depend on. The Domains page says that in its own words, out loud.
The servers, the sending and the webmail are ours. It is the hardest thing we run and the easiest to be judged on, which is exactly why we would not hand it to somebody else and put our name on the invoice.
Every product page says what that line does and what it does not, and the number to ring is printed rather than earned. You are welcome to arrive already knowing what you want.
We named the company after the room, not after the software. If what we make ever stops behaving like one office, the name is the thing that is wrong.
It is a standard that is easy to write down and expensive to keep — every part we add has to read the records that are already there rather than start a set of its own. That is slower to build and it is the whole reason any of this is worth buying.
The quickest way to find out whether this suits you is to tell someone what you run and let them tell you which parts you do not need. That conversation is the same length whether you buy anything or not.
